About Me

While my needles are making rhythmic movement, my mind slips into an escape where I can get lost in my little wonderland for hours. I am single hearted by nature. I am not good at multi-tasking and like to work on one project at a time, just as I prefer being with one close friend rather than a group of friends. In my creative state, I am 100% perfectionist. I don’t compromise but make many attempts of trials and unraveling until I perfectly execute the design. I first start by creating from my imagination that I draw in my sketchbook. However, rarely does my finished work turn out exactly what I initially envisioned. I let my handicrafts unfold gradually which involves a lot of fiddling around until my creation reaches the ideal shape. During the process, I become the self-proclaimed alchemist who transforms chaos into beautifully aligned stitches. While allowing my mind to flow in harmony with my busy hands, I find the Knitter’s High.

This is where magic happens and all my works are produced.

編み針が一定のリズムを刻み続けると、私の意識はそっと現実からほどけていきます。時間という概念は次第に薄れ、私は私だけの小さな幻想の世界へと、静かに沈み込んでいきます。私はもともと一途な性格で、複数のことを同時にこなすよりも、ひとつのプロジェクトに深く集中するタイプです。多くの友人に囲まれるより、心を許せる一人と、静かに同じ時間を過ごすことを好みます。創作に没頭しているときの私は、徹底した完璧主義者です。理想のデザインが確かな形を得るまで、ほどいては編み、編んではほどく-----その試行錯誤を幾度も繰り返します。制作はいつも、スケッチブックに想像の奥から浮かび上がるイメージを描き留めるところから始まります。それでも、作品が最初に思い描いた通りに完成する事は、ほとんどありません。手仕事がまるで自らの意志を持つかのように、ゆっくりと展開していく流れに身を委ねます。理想の形に辿り着くまで、微細な調整と試みを幾重にも重ねていきます。その過程のなかで、混沌としていた毛糸は次第に息をそろえ、美しく整った編み目へと変容していきま。絶え間なく動き続ける編み針と、静かに解き放たれた心が完全に溶け合うとき、私は「ニッターズ・ハイ」へと辿り着きます。百花工房のニットアイテムはこの空間で生まれてきます。​​
